MultiTerm

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 | Author: Michael

With older versions of Trados I used to use MultiTerm. It was easy to prepare lists and then import them into a MutiTerm table. The advantage of using MultiTerm is that you can have recorded terms displayed in Workbench on-the-fly.

Then MultiTerm changed and nobody I know had any idea anymore how to create new tables. I personally must have spent hours … to no avail. The documentation is a good example of how not to write for your average user. For the past couple of years I simply haven’t used it.

But now there is this project where it would be really great if I could get word lists and notes which exist in Word tables into MultiTerm so that I have them available all the time in Workbench. Does anybody have any suggestions? A useful written introduction? A person who is knowledgable and willing? It would make a huge difference – Thank you all!

Saarabstimmung und Algerienkrieg

Friday, February 10th, 2006 | Author: Michael

Church of Your Preference

My surgery was scheduled for Friday morning.

I went to the hospital on Thursday for my pre-op stuff – blood tests, lung x-ray, ECG. I answered what seemed like hundreds of questions and signed dozens of papers. The whole process took well over two hours, and I was “in the system” – or so I thought.

On Friday, I was to check in with registration at 6:30 am. I was five minutes early and despite my trepidations about the upcoming Procedure I bode the person behind a counter a cheerful good morning. I filled out a form with my name and birth date.

Well, you probably have guessed by now that I wouldn’t write about this if everything had worked out smoothly. The fact was, they could not find me in their computer. The lady behind the counter did not even entertain the possibility that they might have made a mistake. She flat out doubted that I had been around the day before to do the registration steps.
